Six Titans qualify for Districts

Saturday, Feb. 18

The SJJ swim team competed at Sectionals on Saturday, February 11 at Napoleon High School, with six Titans advancing to the District meet.

Freshman Nathan Smith dominated his events, qualifying for districts in both the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly. Senior Patrick Gorman closed his last sectional meet with personal bests and qualified for districts in the 100 backstroke. Andrew Titgemeyer, a sophomore, also had an outstanding meet, swimming personal bests and qualifying in the 500 freestyle.

The medley relay of seniors Joel Perino and Alec Pelok, along with Gorman and Smith, placed fourth to qualify for the district meet. The 200 freestyle relay of sophomore Jonah Kale, Smith, Titgemeyer and Perino also placed fourth and qualified for districts. Finally, the 400 freestyle relay of Gorman, Titgemeyer, Kale and Perino also qualified for the district meet with a fourth place finish.

The district meet will be held on Saturday, February 18 at Bowling Green State University. Come out to support the Titans!
